Birmingham

Review Body

The Commission carried out an electoral review of Birmingham between July 2015 - December 2016. The Commission carried out an electoral review of Birmingham City Council following Lord Kerslake’s report on the governance and organisational capabilities of Birmingham City Council. The report recommended that an electoral review be conducted ‘to help the council produce an effective model of representative governance.’

Our review aimed to ensure that each Birmingham councillor represented roughly the same number of voters and that ward boundaries reflected the interests and identities of local communities.
